I have been in two tornadoes having lived in Illinois and Iowa. And yes, it is weird but, things did get dead silent and the animals were acting strange. I am not sure why this is. I guess they have a sense that us human either ignore or don't have.Is it true that, Before a tornado forms/happens, everything is silent and all the animals and birds go away.?

Not necessarily. I've been within about 8 blocks of one and it started out it was just raining, then the wind was blowing and then when the trees started bending completely over, I went to shelter!

This article says about hail.....when the tornados hit the OH area Wednesday night.....I heard there's as much hail as last Wed.
I know there is a dead silence before hand and it sound like a train when it's hitting.
Not totally.....everything is not silent ......but animals sense it..and run. Saw a whole heard of deer come running over a mountain...about 5 minutes before a tornado.came thru the valley.. I've had cattle huddle together...and had horses just go wild...before anything was seen..I don't know if they feel the pressure change or what.
