No it is not true. It is manipulative, intolerant and hateful. Your pastor is trying to whip up ill feeling towards the LGBT community. (Well, he may not be _trying_ but his words are having that effect.)





If God wanted to punish homosexuals he would have done it a few thousand years ago. Homosexual relationships were considered acceptable and somewhat normal in ancient Greece and Rome. I presume they were acceptable in earlier civilizations as well.

Not in my opinion. AIDS and other forms of disease are not created by a loving a forgiving god who made people homosexual in first place; and he created people to love one another, why would he punish them for that? These diseases have been around, but are just now coming into true strength due to the amount of people in the world and the ability to spread disease do to our global lifestyle. They are natural occurring things, like floods, volcanoes, hurricanes, influenza, polio, cancer, etc. Does your pastor see All disease and disasters as being sent by God to visit innocent as well a guilty people? I think that's just an opinion. The Bible may speak against gay and promiscuous people, but I truly believe that God, while maybe not being a huge fan of gay or promiscuous behavior, loves these people as much as anyone else. AIDS is something the world has caused by poor decisions, if you ask me. Who really knows God's intentions for sure, though?

and the risk of getting HIV from regular sex is way lower than from anal sex


it has to do with the thickness of the tissue lining where the sex is happening-the anal tissue lining is MUCH thinner (only about 4 cells thick) so it is more easily torn and damaged
