Actually, it is true. The first run of the comic book had the band members blood mixed in with the red ink for the illustrations. It was documented by a public notary, and signed by all the members. If you search around a bit, you'll find more info.

They mixed a ';small'; amount of the band members' blood into the ink used to print the comic book. Not a big deal, really, but it was a huge marketing ploy when I bought the book in the 1970's.

That's been a preview clip for the TV show Myths and Legends for a week now. The show aired last night...I didn't watch it, but from what I've seen of that show it seems 'most everything they air on it is myth (no truth to it).
if it is a comic book, then how could it be made from blood? books of any type are solids, and blood is a liquid...so no, that is not true...
Think about it. Of all the comic books out there that will require a lot of blood. So much blood that they would be drained of their life.
