true or false. at the heart of plato's philosophy is the theory of forms, or ideas. Everything must be understood in terms of this theory.

For some reason this is another question i cannot find out from my test study guide for tomorrow. Just to let everyone know this is not my homework. It is just a plain old study guide but it would be really helpful if I complete the study guide because our tests are almost the exact same thing as the study guides. They just mess around with the questions a little but so it is not the exact same thing. :-)True or false. at the heart of plato's philosophy is the theory of forms, or ideas. Everything must be und....
According to Plato there is the physical world perceivable by the senses and the world of forms and ideas perceivable only by the mind. To Plato the physical world is only an illusion, and the world of forms and ideas is the real world. Forms are like molds where they transcend to objects. For instance if you found something to be beautiful(woman,flower,mountains,etc..) it is not the woman whom you see beautiful but Aphrodite manifesting herself on the woman,flower,etc... Another example would be a circle. A drawn circle is never perfect, if you try to measure the circumference of a circle with a radius of x inches with a ruler you will probably get a mediocre estimation. However, by understanding pi you can get a much closer and accurate estimation. To plato contemplating pi, would really be seeing the true nature of the circle. Only through the mind's eye can we witness the true world. Plato used the allegory of the cave to further explore this. Search on the net on Plato's cave, and there is vast information on him i find hard to believe that you can't find anything on him.True or false. at the heart of plato's philosophy is the theory of forms, or ideas. Everything must be und....
