Would all true Pagans believe that Harry potter books are not a true form of Witchcraft?

I should hope so. There's three types of magic in the world. 1. Pull-a-rabbit-out-of-a-hat magic. This is the sort of magic Harry Houdini did and David Copperfield does. This is the illusionary, trickery form of magic.2. Turn-a-prince-into-a-frog magic. This is the stuff of fairy tales, the sort of thing make-believe evil queens and witches (note the lowercase W) do. This is the storybook, fiction magic.3. Ritual religious magic. This type of magic is another form of prayer, this is what Wiccans/Witches (capital W here, there is a difference from ';witch';) and other Pagans do. This magic is as real as Christians saying rosary or Jews saying kiddish. It's just another form of prayer.

The magic in Harry Potter is definately type 2, not type 3, and true Wiccans/Witches know that.Would all true Pagans believe that Harry potter books are not a true form of Witchcraft?
As much as I despise Harry Potter, the books do not promote witchcraft. There's no reason to believe that the series is anti-Christian; in fact, Hogwarts is clearly patriarchal and ordered in the manner of Christian academy or boarding school.

HP is far more Christian than Christians want to believe. The ';magic'; in the books is simply too silly and literal to be misunderstood as authentic witchcraft.Would all true Pagans believe that Harry potter books are not a true form of Witchcraft?
its a book dont worry aobut it its fantasy. No one can really do speels like that anymore. ( well mabey a few of us who are intune with nature enough ) but dont think into everything so much its just a kids book
Everyone should believe that the HP books are not a true form a witchcraft, because ITS NOT.

The books are fiction, therefore meaning the spells that are in the book are also fiction.

Most of the spells are actually Latin words that mean what the spell does.

As a HP lover, I HATE it when people assume since it has spells and magic that it MUST be evil...

I'll stop now because I could go on for days about this subject..
maybe, doubtful if they care very much
Are you serious?!? HP is a fun, fantasy series that has nothing to do with true witchcraft. Only thing I might add is that it does portray magick in a positive manner! I can only wish I had the Magickal ability to write as well as the author so i could be a millionaire too!
Aren't the Pagans a motorcycle gang? Why would they care about Harry Potter?
No, Harry Potter is just fiction there is no such thing as magic or wizards(well at least wizards like that).
Although the forms of magic taught at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books are fictional, the representations of other forms of ';magic'; are not. Magic is the literal word for many types of spellwork....and the author of these books draws very heavily upon them. Herbs that are now widely popular over the counter with the neo-new agers are also mentioned, such as valerian and mandrake, just to name two. I would suggest to anyone who does not believe that JK Rowling has not been heavily advised in mythology, shamanism, wicca, alchemy and many other areas of metaphysical studies should read about these subjects in depth. Then go back, and make a game of Where's Waldo of spotting the parallels. Right down to Harry Potter's wand...that's a little thing in wicca called ';the knowing.'; I do agree...there is an element of the ';chosen one'; Christian idealogy...but this is a common thread among many mythological stories throughout the ages. JK does it as well as George Lucas did when he drew on the writings of Joseph Campbell for the Star Wars saga...Tolkien was a master at reproducing it in Frodo...and the Apostle, Paul, wasn't too shabby either.
