Is it true that you have to be over 16 years old to fill out the tax forms?

Nope. You have to file a tax return at any age if you have income to report. If if you have little income, and end up paying no tax it will add to your RRSP contribution room.

once you turn 16 you should file an income tax return, even if your income is zero so you can claim the GST credit. Make sure your parents are not claiming it on your behalf first - family is better off if the eligible parent makes the claim.

If your parents make too much income so they are not eligible to claim the GST rebate then you can claim your own amount. Is it true that you have to be over 16 years old to fill out the tax forms?
I would have to say yes, sonce I don't think you are legally allowed to work if you're 15.
