true!!TRUE or FALSE? The delta usually forms when a river empties into a large, still body of water? THNX 4 THE HELP
TRUE,

Mud is picked up from the flow of the river and is held in suspension as long as the flow is sufficient. When the river meets a large body of water, either a lake or an ocean, the flow decreases due to the expansion of the flow channel. (the water doesnt need to move fast anymore to get out of the way since it is no longer confined to a small channel) When the water slows, the particles in suspension drop out and deposit themselves.TRUE or FALSE? The delta usually forms when a river empties into a large, still body of water? THNX 4 THE HELP
true.
Delta forms because of the difference in the concentration of salt in between river and sea/ocean which changes the solubility of mud particles in the river water and causes sublimation of mud which forms the delta. Believe me, I know 'cause I live on the largest one in the world! And the formation of delta has actually little effect on whether the water is still or running.
