I heard this somewhere and I've been thinking about it, it makes sense to me.
And if I look at my friends who AREN'T punished as much, but still have good parents, it seems like they have better behavior than those who are punished alot.Is it true any form of punishment only causes more negative feelings?

If everybody was good the way they are supposed to be, then there would be NO punishment, period
Not all forms, but there are a lot of cases where the punisher doesn't think about cause and effect.
